Meet Karina

From an early age, García was actively involved in community service, volunteering her time to assist immigrants and advocate for equal rights. Her journey led her to leadership roles in various organizations. As a business owner herself, with ventures in transportation and real estate, García understands the challenges facing entrepreneurs and is passionate about empowering them.

In her role as President & CEO, García champions the needs of the Hispanic community, advocating for economic growth and opportunities. She engages with entrepreneurs, young professionals, and government officials to address pressing issues and foster collaboration. García's efforts extend beyond business advocacy; she is deeply involved in initiatives promoting education, community development, and civic engagement.

Karina Y. García Alanis, the first female President & CEO of the Aurora Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and founder of International Women of Influence, is a dedicated mother and a trailblazer in her community. Born in Mexico City in 1981, she immigrated to Illinois at the age of nine, embodying the American Dream. In 2015, she proudly became a United States Citizen, a testament to her commitment to her adopted home.

García's impact extends nationally through her contributions as an author and speaker, sharing her inspiring story and advocating for immigrant rights and women's empowerment. She has participated in forums and campaigns addressing immigration reform and workforce development, leveraging her platform to raise awareness and drive meaningful change.​Recently appointed to the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board, García continues to be a driving force for inclusivity and progress.

 

With her visionary leadership and commitment to service, she strives to create a more vibrant and equitable future for all. As she reflects on her journey, García remains dedicated to giving back to her community and providing the tools and resources needed for others to succeed.
